About The Project
MBM was hired to repair the porch at the Clayton House which is a part of the Frick Art & Historical Center. The Clayton House was once home of the Henry Clay Frick family from 1882-1905. This restored 23-room mansion features an impressive array of fine and decorative art objects purchased by the Fricks. After removing the existing porch, we discovered that the foundation had dissipated over the last 138 years. After removing the rubble, the concrete foundation and substructure was poured, and once the porch was in place, the terrazzo restoration occurred. This project was like putting a puzzle back together.
