MBM was founded as a general contracting company over 25 years ago. We have a dedicated team of construction professionals committed to delivering our projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with the owner’s requirements. Our talented team of project managers has decades of experience on some of the most challenging projects, both new construction and renovation, in and around the Pittsburgh area. We provide the necessary knowledge, experience, and resources on every project to ensure successful completion and total owner satisfaction.
MBM provides construction management (CM) services on various types of construction projects. The CM delivery method allows us to collaborate with the owner and the design team from the earliest stages of a project to expedite the delivery process. As the CM, MBM acts as the project liaison to fully integrate the project team. Using this method can help reduce overall project costs by means of competitive bidding, contract negotiation, value engineering, and schedule efficiency. Other CM services include master scheduling, coordination of material/equipment purchasing, on-site management, subcontractor supervision, and enhanced quality control.
As part of the CM delivery method, MBM offers pre-construction services by collaborating with the project team at the early stages of a project. Some of these services include preliminary budgeting, constructability review, schedule development, value engineering, mock-ups, permitting, and bid package preparation. Our pre-construction services allow the owner to ensure every aspect of the project is thoughtfully planned out, reducing the number of unexpected issues uncovered once construction commences.
MBM has partnered with top architectural firms to provide a single source approach to project construction. We can also provide in-house design services on certain types of projects. The design-build delivery method allows for a fast track construction process by eliminating lost time in the design-bid-build process and by identifying and ordering long lead items prior to the start of construction. Potential cost savings can be realized by value engineering provided by the architect, engineer, and contractor during the design process.
MBM has approximately 100 highly skilled foremen and tradesmen, including carpenters and plasterers, who self-perform key elements of our work. There are many advantages to self-performing work including schedule flexibility, cost savings by value engineering, and greater quality control. Below are some of the services we self-perform:
