About The Project

MBM provided Construction Management services to complete the build-out of 21,800 SF of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) space and a new 13,400 SF eight-story elevator tower addition at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, PA. The ICU project included a new 20-bed ICU and renovation of an existing 13-bed ICU on the 6th floor of the hospital. Specific phasing was required on the floor below the ICU to coordinate the plumbing tie-ins. The ICU build-out was completed in February 2015 within the four month schedule. The elevator tower provides access from the surgical department to every floor in the hospital. A renovation to the emergency department intake and waiting areas was also included the project scope. MBM worked closely with the staff at Forbes Hospital to determine the phasing and entrance access that will best accommodate staff and visitors to tie-in the new elevator to the existing building. The new elevator tower was completed in March 2016.
