About The Project

MBM provided Construction Management services for a large, multi-phased renovation on the Fourth Floor of Children’s’ Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. 14,000 SF of space was renovated to include a new Intraoperative MRI, waiting area, large infusion area expansion, pharmacy, pathology lab and additional support space. The Intraoperative MRI is a combination of an MRI and OR for use of imaging equipment mid-surgery. 38,000 lbs. of reinforcing steel were installed to support the MRI magnet. The steel was installed in the ceiling of an existing three-story atrium. MBM provided preconstruction services to work with the design team and facilities staff for pre-planning of schedule, phasing and equipment coordination.
